We’re bringing a little more joy and learning to the neighborhood! Greater Philadelphia Community Alliance is incredibly grateful to our partners at Read by 4th, Philly’s early literacy movement, for the generous donation and installation of Philly ABCs banners at our new Lincoln Day Educational Center. The full alphabet, along with playful instructional banners, now brightens the chain-link fencing inside and outside our playground. Even before our doors officially open, children and parents walking along 19th Street have been stopping to explore the colorful display. We love seeing the installation bring new life, learning, and fun to our playground and the surrounding neighborhood.

The learning doesn’t have to stop at the fence! Families can visit PhillyABCs.org for a free, interactive way to practice the alphabet together. Children can explore each letter and watch fun phonics videos that help them hear and practice letter sounds. Accessible from a computer, tablet, or phone, it’s a wonderful way to turn everyday moments into opportunities for learning and play.

We invite our neighbors to stop by and see the Philly ABCs at Lincoln Day Educational Center, 1839 Ellsworth Street, and share your visit by tagging GPCA and Read by Fourth! Lincoln Day Educational Center will officially open soon, expanding the early childhood education services families already know from our other GPCA Cares learning centers. We can’t wait to welcome children and families into this vibrant new space and become an even bigger part of the neighborhood.
